Reviews
Less than a five minute drive (20 minute walk) from Margaret River town, the RAC Margaret River Nature Park is a great place to stay. Great for being out of the action yet close to town; it puts you in good stead to explore the region. The facilities are excellent, and the safari tent is luxurious.
Thank you to Nicole and the team!
We really loves the RAC campground, the people working were absolutely super stars and so helpful. My one complaint is that in the bathroom and kitchen near the mill (where we stayed), it seems like every single water tap is leaking. And when I say leaking, I mean some of them are just dumping out water and you cannot close them off. This was a bit upsetting to us as WA is already having water troubles. Lovely place to stay but, RAC PLEASE FIX YOUR TAPS!! You're a large company and would be saving so much water from being wasted. Thanks again to staff! Beautiful stay :)(
Perfect location for the mtb trails, walks and short walk into the town, lovely bush setting.
There were very noisy school groups on one of the nights, resulting in very dirty facilities, but was super quiet and clean the next night when they left. Recommend ringing ahead if they have school groups, if you want a relaxing and quiet time here.
Overall=
A good bush type experience with resources families need:
Bbqs, laundry, playground and free decent wifi for when you need it.
Stayed in the biggest dorm.
Sleeps 26. Dorm has private door to a split level room with 13 singke bunks and 2 single beds there's 2 steps to half the beds. The fire escape is off the ground level.
There are a few windows and some pedestal fans as there's no air conditioning.
A (shared) communal living/ dining area with 3 other dorms. A huge outside undercover area . Small semi commercial communal kitchen. 3 fridges, a microwave, and a couple of toasters.
The negs=
There is no soundproofing between dorms and the mattresses were dusty.
No pool
The pos=
A real bush experience: dust and all 😄
Close to everything
Reasonable price to sleep many!
Amenities for families: laundry, disabled access, cooking facilities, Bbqs
Note: Access road not graded but accessible by a regular car (not low peofile tyres).
Disabled access via smooth paths in-between communal buildings but bumpy dirt roads otherwise. Keys required for disabled bathroom access.
We've been coming here for years and absolutely love the Nature Park. Beautiful location in the forest next to the trails. Walking distance to town. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Beautiful, quiet relaxing location with walking trail and town is within walking distance.
Cabin was immaculate and cosy!
Staff are excellent! Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful location, beautiful safari tents! The shared bathrooms are basic but absolutely adequate. Would definitely stay here again!
I recently stayed at a campsite that had some good and not so good aspects to it. The campsite itself was absolutely amazing. The location was beautiful and serene, and the natural surroundings were stunning. I enjoyed being able to explore the area and appreciate the natural beauty around me.
One of the standout features of the campsite was the staff. They were extremely friendly and welcoming.
However, the safari tent #2 we stayed in was a disappointment. It was old and worn out, and had some serious issues with ventilation. The tent was not sealed properly, which meant that animals and insects were able to get in at night while we were sleeping. This was definitely not ideal and made for a very uncomfortable sleeping experience.
Overall, while I would highly recommend the campsite itself and the staff, I would not recommend staying in their safari tents. They are in need of some serious upgrades and repairs to make them more comfortable and secure. If you do decide to stay here, I would suggest bringing your own tent or opting for one of their other accommodation options.
